Grapes are harvested in the vineyards, collected in crates, and sent to the factory.
Grapes are weighed then inspected for foreign matters.
Grapes are washed, de-stemmed, crushed, and pressed.
Grape juice is filtered by naturally being settled in refrigerated tanks.
Grape juice is heated up in special steam-run caldrons, cleared, and evaporated to a brix of 66 for the grape syrup and 82 for Molasses.
Grape syrup is filtered, cooled, and then filled in bottles, whereas the molasses are directly cooled before filling.
Several generations have passed since the first press was put into production and the torch was passed to the newest and fourth generation. Utilizing traditions passed down from our ancestors, the present generation has raised the bar, adding modern technology and applying advanced standards of food safety to continue producing the sweet molasses.
A major characteristic that has not changed with modernity is the sense of community as one of the core values embodied by the family business. The Kadamanis are proud to support more than 250 local growers whose grapes make their way to our presses each year. The use of locally grown grapes from growers who share our values not only helps the growers, but also assures that all grapes used in production are naturally grown and non-modified varieties.
This sense of community awareness also expresses itself in many other ways throughout the summer with the creation of community activities and events which bring visitors to the area during the production season, supporting local businesses in general.
Tradition is what binds generations and keeps memories of the past alive. In the foothills of Mount Hermon in Lebanon, a quaint and picturesque village is nestled where tradition flourishes. One tradition in particular has not only survived, but has served to enrich this community and its inhabitants. For centuries the village of Rashaya and surrounding areas have been known for their successful grape growing industry.
The people of this region not only occupy the land, they are partners with it and that is evident in the respect and gratitude they feel. This area of the Mediterranean was the home of the Kadamani family and the place where our great grandfather developed a unique recipe for the family specialty, grape molasses. His love for the vines and its offerings inspired him to produce this sweet creation and his recipe and devotion have spanned across four generations of our family.
The Kadamani family is now proud to introduce "Grapeful", the brand that perfects exclusive recipes starting with the original grape molasses. We have added new methods of production and a selection of healthy ingredients native to the Mediterranean region, Chickpeas, Tahini, Carob, Cardamom and nuts. Grapeful now boasts a line of all-natural sweet syrups and spreads in addition to an exclusive family of Grapeful Hummus Bars and Cereal Bars that provide deliciously healthy options for you and your family in today's faster paced life style.
These creations allow the taste and nutritional benefits of the lovely grape clusters to linger through the seasons, long after the fruit has passed its prime and the vine has shed its leaves until the next season begins. All these products are inspired by the desire to feed our own families whole nutritious foods, and we are gratified to share these nourishing and delightful sweets with others similarly inspired to maximize their own family's nutritional experience.
